Montiggl Forest
From Nals follow the Wine Route to the crossroads at St. Michael. From here follow the Lavason Valley on the asphalted cycle way down to the “Altenloch” crossing, then take the “Schäufelewiesweg” path through the forest towards the Montiggl lakes which exits directly by the car park on the larger Montiggl lake. From here take path 1A to the smaller Montiggl lake, then path no. 1 up towards the “Wilder Mann Bühel”. After some 1.5 km turn left onto a stony path down to Schreckbichl. Return on the Überetsch cycle way via Kaltern to your starting point.
Vigiljoch to the Naturnser Alm
Follow the Wine Route to the cable car station in Oberlana. Take the cable car up to the Vigiljoch. From the top station take the forest trail up to the “Jocher Kirchl” chapel and the “Jocher” inn. Continue on a forest trail and then a footpath to the Naturnser Alm. Return via the “Seespitz” inn and the Tschigghof down to Tscherms in the valley, then back to Nals along the Etsch cycle path.
Grissian and Sirmian
The route leads from Nals on the Wine Route towards Lana and its golf course. From there take a left onto the Moosweg which leads up to Tisens. Continue past the village of Prissian and along a small mountain road up to Grissian. From St. Jakob take the forest trail past a landslip to Obersirmian. Return via the Sirmian road back to Nals.
Rittner Horn
From Nals take the Etsch cycle way to Bozen, where you take the cable car up to Oberbozen. Head for “Riggermoos” via the Greyerhof, then past the “Auf der Tann” inn towards Pemmern to the “Unterhornhaus” and finally to the summit of the Rittnerhorn. Continue to the Gasteiger Saddle then down to the Gasser Hut. Return the same way, then from Bozen on the Etsch cycle way back to Nals.
Stoanerne Mandln (Standing Stones)
From Nals take the Etsch cycle way to Burgstall and from there take the cable car to Vöran. Take the road towards Mölten to the Grüner Baum guesthouse, then take the forest trail to the Leadner Alm. Continue straight on past the turning to the Leadner Alm and up to the Auener Jöchl. From there it is at first flat, then very steep up to the standing stones known as the “Stoanerne Mandln”. From the stones it is briefly down to the Möltner Kaser and the Scheermoos car park, then right and down to Mölten. Take the cable from Schlaneid back down to Vilpian and then the road back to Nals.
